International Student Arrival Guide
INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ARRIVAL
Arriving to Canada from another country? Let this guide help you prepare your arrival, to ensure your safety and the safety of others. We will do everything we can to make your quarantine period as simple to organize as possible!
What is quarantine? Quarantine is self-isolation for a full 14-day period upon arrival from another country, to help limit the spread of COVID-19. During this time, you should have no physical contact with anyone. But don’t worry, we’ll be here for you virtually!
Do I have to quarantine even if I don’t have symptoms? Yes. Everyone arriving from another country must be quarantined. Do not travel to Canada with symptoms. If you have symptoms upon your arrival (fever, coughing, sneezing, headache, difficulty breathing), you should inform a Canadian Border Services agent at the airport, and special additional measures can be taken.
Household Isolation
Before you leave your home country to come to Canada, it is recommended that you self-isolate in your home for 2 weeks and only meet your immediate household members during that time.
Covid-19 Testing
and Mandatory Hotel Quarantine
As of January 7, 2021, students must present a negative molecular Covid-19 test result prior to boarding a flight to Canada. The test must be taken within 72 hours prior to your scheduled departure to Canada.
As of February 21, 2021, students are also required to:
• Reserve a government-authorized hotel for 3 nights prior to departure to Canada.
– To book your mandatory 3-night hotel stopover, call 1-800-294-8253 (from within North America) or 1-613-830-2992 (collect call from outside North America), or look for online booking options on the approved hotel list
– Take a COVID-19 molecular test on arrival in Canada and register for the test in advance to save time at the airport
– Stay in the government-authorized hotel to wait for the results of the COVID-19 molecular test taken on arrival
• Pay for the cost of the hotel stay, as well as all associated costs for:
– food
– security
– transportation
– infection prevention and control measures
Travellers must present proof of having reserved and pre-paid for their accommodation through ArriveCAN. Travellers will still be required to complete the remainder of the mandatory 14-day quarantine after their mandatory hotel stopover.
As of April 23, 2021, students must also take a COVID-19 molecular test on day 8 of their
quarantine.

b. College Accommodation Services

Students choosing this option are required to take the 3 meals/day option for the first two weeks of their stay. Meals will be delivered to your room.
ii. Student Residence – Our Student Residence has very strict quarantine measures in effect and offers all the services you need during this period, including meals
delivered to your room.
iii. Student House – Some of our Student House apartments are available as quarantine locations (those with few occupied rooms and capacity to add on a meal delivery service). You will not be permitted to access shared rooms during your quarantine, except of course the washroom. You will be responsible for following the quarantine rules very strictly, to protect your roommates from exposure, and will be required to sign the Quarantine Declaration on the last page of this document.
c. Your own private accommodation
2. How will you get to your accommodation?
If you are in quarantine, you are not allowed to take public transportation. You must arrange for private transportation. If you have a friend or Homestay parent who can pick you up, that is ideal. If you are staying in a hotel, speak to the hotel about transportation
options. College also offers airport pickup services. Contact our Accommodation Services for more details.
3. How will you get your meals?
